We know that it is always good to give our children fresh, homemade food but we also realize that isn’t practical at all times. Sometimes, we just want to grab a burger for the kids, and we hope that it is a treat for them.
When Tiffany Floyd stopped to pick up a quick bite for her 4-year-old daughter from Burger King, she thought she had it all under control. It was supposed to be an easy meal, but things turned sour when he daughter complained about ‘ketchup’ on her food.
Floyd went on TikTok to explain what happened. She said: “Today I went to Burger King by my house.” Afterward, she went on to say that she heard her daughter say:
“Mom, I don’t want ketchup.”
“So I take the bag back, thinking that they messed up our order. And I look in her bag and there is blood all over.”
Floyd said that her daughter had already taken a bite of her cheeseburger and ate a few French fries before she said anything to her mother about the ‘ketchup’ on her meal.
When Floyd first saw the burger, she also thought it was ketchup but soon realized it was blood. That is when she called the Burger King and asked to speak with a manager. He admitted that an employee had cut his hand before bagging the food.
Floyd said: “He was so nonchalant at this point and I was livid.”
The manager offered to refund her money for the meal if she came back to the store.
After contacting the local health department and filing a report, Floyd realized that not much could be done.
Burger King did confirm that their location in Gettzville was closed for a few days while a ‘deep cleaning’ took place and the employees were retrained.
Despite what the fast food restaurant did, Floyd said her daughter will need bloodwork done ‘every month’ and she is afraid to eat anything because there may be blood in the food.
Hopefully, the TikTok video will help to clear things up. She also gives the advice: “Every time you get food through a drive-thru, you open the bag up and start eating without even looking. I just want other people there to check to see if they ate it, too.”
