A Woman Transformed a 110-Year-Old Dead Tree Into a Cozy Library: “The Most Creative And Amazing Transformation You Have Ever Seen”!

When a century-old cottonwood tree needed to be removed, Shara Lee Armitage Howard, a librarian and bookbinder, transformed it into a charming little library. Instead of providing shade, the tree now shares the joy of reading.

With its stone steps, gabled roof, and vibrant green door, the structure exudes a whimsical charm. Though too small for adults, this delightful establishment has become a beloved spot for the residents of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

.

Adorned with miniature wooden books, the library operates on a “take a book, leave a book” principle. Visitors come to share or borrow books, fostering a love for reading.

Shara has joined the Little Free Library network, an organization dedicated to promoting reading and community. Her creation will be featured on the map of mini-libraries, which now includes over 75,000 of these charming installations worldwide.
