Being in the right place at the right moment isn’t always enough to fix problems. Showing that you are prepared to speak up for the weak and those in need frequently requires bravery as well.

For these four young lads, what appeared to be just another night out became an unforgettable experience.While skating in an underground parking lot, Arnaud Nimenya, Carsyn Wright, James Hielema, and Starlyn Rives-Perez noticed something really strange. An older, well-dressed man had pulled a little girl, maybe fifteen years old, through the location while she was drunk. The boys were startled by this since they sensed something wasn’t right.The girl was in quite poor health. One of the boys remembers that she was so inebriated that “she was screaming and yelling.” All she wanted to do was leave. She was filthy and scratched up.

However, he claimed to be the girl’s father once the lads drew nearer in an attempt to assist her in getting rid of that man. They chose to back off since she didn’t really say anything about it.

“You really don’t want to imagine the worst of someone like them. Wright stated, “You just brush it off and hope for the best because you don’t want that situation to be real.”

But the males decided to turn around and see how the girl was doing again because they somehow sensed he wasn’t telling the truth.

The choice proved to be one that would save this woman’s life.

When they returned, the gory scene left them in full shock. The young woman, who was defenseless, was being sexually assaulted by the male.

“You freeze when you see something like that as soon as you come in. One of the young men, Nimenya, remarked, “You don’t know what to do.”

They ran in the direction of the assailant because they knew they had to move as fast as possible. He began to run, trying to get out of the parking lot.

Nimenya remarked, “He was attempting to leave and walk away from us.”I got a smirk and thought, ‘I can do this,’ after he shoved me violently out of my way. There is nothing you can do about it.

These teenage warriors were resolved to catch the assailant because they wouldn’t simply let him off the hook. The man began striking the boys with one of their skateboards, which led to a physical altercation. Fortunately, the police showed up right on schedule.

Now that the mother was safe and sound, the boys were relieved. But the cops wouldn’t let the boys’ valiant act go unnoticed, so they made the decision to honor them for their bravery and valor by inviting them to the Chief’s Awards Gala, where they would receive the honors and public attention they so well earned.

The way these young men handled the circumstance makes us very proud. They even put their lives at danger to ensure the safety of a helpless and vulnerable woman. Our actual idols and inspirations are you all.
