Fishermen Mallory Harrigan, Cliff Russell, and Allan Russell were several miles off the coast of the Labrador Peninsula in Canada when they stumbled upon something utterly extraordinary. Perched helplessly on a mushroom-shaped iceberg drifting through the icy waters was a creature entirely out of its element.

Aboard their crab fishing vessel, Northern Swan, the crew spotted the peculiar sight about four miles from shore.

Stranded on the icy platform was an unexpected passenger. At first glance, they assumed it was a seal pup. “Most likely, it got stuck there while searching for food,” Mallory Harrigan shared.

Determined to help, the crew offered the poor creature some chips and crackers. However, it remained disinterested until it regained some strength, at which point sausages became the meal of choice.

Upon returning to land, the crew released the wayward Arctic fox back into its natural habitat, giving it a second chance at life. This simple act of kindness proved to be nothing short of life-saving.
