Man Uses 11 Shipping Containers To Build His 2,500 Square Foot Dream House, And The Inside Looks Amazing

Will Breaux, a designer, made his dream come true by constructing a house using shipping containers. Situated on McGowen Street in Houston, his special home consists of 11 shipping containers, forming a three-story, 2,500 square foot house with a rooftop deck.

Breaux had been dreaming of building his own house since the early 2000s, but he had a hard time finding someone who could create the kind of home he wanted. So, he took matters into his own hands. “I started looking at projects that were being built that I liked,” Breaux wrote on his blog. After letting go of a design team that didn’t meet his expectations, he started designing the house himself around 2011.

Breaux thought using shipping containers was cool because they’re super strong, fireproof, durable, and can withstand hurricanes. Even though he didn’t know much about building, he learned all about making houses out of containers and drew a 3D picture of his dream home. Now, after working really hard for a long time, Breaux has an awesome container house that he decorated himself.
